My Story

My name is Anastasia Stryukova, but most families call me Ana. In 2017, I moved from Russia to the United States with my family, starting a new life and adapting to a whole new culture. A few years later, my mom became pregnant with my little sister, and that experience changed everything for me. Being by her side, learning, and helping during her pregnancy opened my eyes to how powerful and emotional the journey to birth can be.

🌸 Discovering Birth Work

Supporting my mom made me realize how much I wanted to be there for others in the same way. It sparked a passion that led me to birth work and, eventually, to becoming a doula. I wanted to provide the same kind of presence, reassurance, and care for families that I had wished for during that time.

💉 Healthcare Roots

Before becoming a doula, I worked in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant. That experience gave me a strong foundation in compassionate care and taught me the importance of advocacy, patience, and respect—values I now bring into my doula work every day.

🌍 Serving Diverse Families

As a bilingual doula (English & Russian), I understand how important it is to feel safe and understood in your own language, especially during birth. I also believe that doula support should be available to all families, which is why I became a ProviderOne-approved doula. With Medicaid/Apple Health coverage, I can offer my services at no cost to eligible families, making birth support more accessible.

🌱 Beyond Birth Work

Outside of doula life, I love being outdoors hiking, spending time with my younger sister and family, and nourishing myself with good food. I believe care and healing begin with nourishment, both in birth and in everyday life. I also loved to go out camping with my partner and our dog Bella.

✨ My Why

Becoming a doula is more than a profession to me—it’s my calling. From my own family’s story to the many families I’ve supported, I’ve seen again and again how every birth is unique and powerful. My hope is that each family I work with feels cared for, respected, and empowered as they welcome their baby into the world.
